Fongming Cable:The difference between ETFE wire and PTFE wire

ETFE, is a molecule with properties similar to PTFE. Both polymers are widely used for wire insulation in the aerospace, medical and nuclear industries because of their high corrosion resistance, excellent dielectric properties and ability to function over a wide temperature range.

However, ETFE has different physical and thermal properties from PTFE.

1. The tensile strength of ETFE can be increased by up to 34%, which means that ETFE insulated wires can withstand harsher operating conditions

2. On the other hand, PTFE cable is more flexible and not easy to break; its coefficient of friction is about 70% lower than ETFE, making it more resistant to wear, especially for wire harnesses that tend to rub against each other.

3. Regarding the degree of heat resistance: PTFE has a melting point of 327°C, (PTFE is famous for its application in non-stick frying pans and other cookware coatings because it is hydrophobic and has a fairly high heat resistance.)

While ETFE has a melting point of 267°C.

4. Regarding the use environment: ETFE is popular for its high corrosion resistance and mechanical strength. ETFE's ability to withstand high temperatures and harsh environments makes ETFE ideal for the aerospace, medical, nuclear and instrumentation industries.

Yangzhou Fongming Cable Factory has a total of 19 UL certified ETFE wires and cables styles: UL1508, UL1513, UL1517, UL1523, UL1610, UL1643, UL1644, UL1671, UL1814, UL10086, UL10109, UL10125, UL10126, UL104812, UL104812 , UL11341, UL21877 and UL20326.
