So what does the orange warning that triggered the cold wave mean? This means that in the next two days, the daily average temperature or minimum temperature in most areas of 4 or more provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities) will drop by more than 12°C, accompanied by strong winds of level 6 or higher. In some areas of two or more provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities), the daily average temperature or minimum temperature dropped by more than 16℃. The cold wave in winter will cause the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River, and the cold wave in spring and autumn will cause the lowest temperature in the Jianghuai area to drop to 4°C and the local drop to below 2°C.

Most areas in the central and eastern regions will be above 10 degrees Celsius. Most of the central and western parts of Inner Mongolia, northern Shaanxi, Shanxi, and northern Hebei, including the Northeast. In the southeastern part of China, as well as most parts of Jianghuai and Jiangnan, the temperature drop will be above 12°C, and the temperature drop in some areas can even reach 16°C."
The cold wave is accompanied by obvious windy weather. Most areas of the central and eastern regions will have northerly winds of magnitude 4 to 6, with gusts up to 9 levels. The wind will be most significant in the next two days. The rain and snow are mainly concentrated in southern Shaanxi, Henan, Shandong, Anhui, and Jiangsu will have moderate to heavy snow and even heavy snow.
